Potential Product Delays – CSL Alarm Signalling Range

An important update from CSL. Global supply issues have been well documented in the press and are affecting the delivery schedules of leading brands across a range of sectors.

CSL expects reduced capacity in the semiconductor manufacturing supply chain.

What’s happening?

Global supply issues have been well documented in the press and are affecting the delivery schedules of leading brands across a range of sectors. Over the last 12 months, lead times have been increasing, and in some circumstances, components have been withdrawn from sale, resulting in shortages for electronics manufacturers across the globe. This extreme situation is a result of the Covid pandemic and is caused by a combination of increased demand for electronic equipment and reduced capacity in the semiconductor manufacturing supply chain. It is a situation that is expected to continue for the foreseeable future.

What is the impact on CSL?

CSL has said, “Until recently, long-term product demand planning enabled CSL to ensure that customer supply was unaffected, in spite of lengthening lead times. However, the situation has recently worsened, and component shortages are now causing disruption to CSL’s manufacturing schedules.”

As a result, we are expecting lead times to increase across CSL’s alarm signaling product lines. Uncertainty in the supply chain means that lead times will vary on a product-by-product basis and delivery dates will be approximate.

What is CSL doing about it?

They are working with multiple suppliers to limit the impact on customers, but it is currently difficult to know how long this disruption will continue. We will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.

Advice ARCs & Installers

  • Please place your order(s) in advance where possible and be aware that they may be delayed.
  • Orders will be processed on a ‘first in, first out’ basis.
  • CSL will process orders as normal and you only need to contact us if a change is required.
  • Orders may be cancelled, if needed, up until the point of shipping.
  • CSL may query orders placed for larger quantities and ask for these to be scheduled.
