October 2009
Hello Again,
Summer’s over, the clocks go back and the long dark evenings begin as we move into winter. However we also enter the festive season with many industry functions to attend such as the Security Excellence Awards in Park Lane, London of which we are the founding sponsor, as well as the Metropolitan Police Crimestoppers annual dinner at Scotland Yard and SELECT’s annual dinner in Glasgow.
I will be hosting tables at all the above functions either for SMS or the Fire and Security Association and look forward to meeting the captains of industry at each and I suspect the dinner jacket could end up being a bit tighter as a result!
The year to date has been a difficult one for UK PLC in general and we have noticed many of our customers struggling to make ends meet, one indication of which is the need to be in the workplace rather than at corporate events. So this year we trimmed our corporate event activity accordingly with view to re-launching our corporate entertainment in 2010.
As our industry comes out of recession it has historically gone into boom, early indications show that order books are starting to fill up again, the current problem is one of being paid on time and that reflects through to the suppliers and network providers alike.
Both SMS & NMS, whose financial year ended on the 30th September, had a very successful year with over 200 new installers joining as customers of SMS or NMS and the resulting growth in new connections was significant. The increase in revenue streams that will pull through from our increase in sales activity especially in CCTV and Fire monitoring, places us in a good position for the forthcoming year as much will be reinvested in the business and new additional services.
So for SMS & NMS it won’t be a winter of discontent, the team is actively poised to promote new products, services and tariffs and further grow the business during 2010.
In the meanwhile, if you would like to join a successful and progressive ARC/RVRC service provider and enjoy extremely competitive rates and incentives, give our sales team a call. You’ve got nothing to lose, even if you are completely happy with your existing provider, but you may have a lot to gain.
Bye for now,
Steve
