June 2010
For those installers who use text messaging you may not be aware that recently O2 switched off their message centre number 07860 980 480 in the UK, this number is embedded into many control panels for the texting of alarm activations from intruder alarm panels to owners and key holders of protected premises.
Also, the T-Mobile message centre number 07958 879 889 has also been switched off. A technical bullet-in has been notified by Honeywell to selected installers under Customer Advice Note 026 dated April 2010
The removal of these numbers will affect consumers alarm panels where text notification of alarm activations was the primary means of communication to key holders. This does NOT affect alarm systems monitored by ARC’s that are on key holder notification as the alarm activation is handled by an operator who contacts the owner or key holder.
Post IFSEC has seen a healthy enquiry level for the new RedCare GSM pricing and for upgrading of signalling within the suite of products for each network service provider. Also we are seeing a growth in conversion from one network supplier to another as well as increased Digi Solo and DigiPlus connections.
For more details on any of the products and deals to be had, contact us for a health check on the margins on your estate of remote signalling systems.
As part of our service offering we undertake a review of your current estate of systems and provide you with a summary of savings that could be made on your signalling systems, thereby increasing your existing margins. We also look at how you might best provide solutions for integrated IP solutions, or how to protect your customer from potential BT21CN issues whilst enabling you to make a larger margin or your digital communicators.
Installers who have connections with other ARC’s / RVRC’s have found this of particular interest as they have enjoyed better prices from SMS & NMS and also better margins on their preferred signalling method and a better service as well!
Bye for now,
Steve
