Hello Again,
They say that plagiarism is perhaps the highest form of flattery in that you obviously have produced something of value that others wish to claim as their own. Our brand name I would venture to suggest is extremely well known for alarm receiving centres in the UK, as is our logo.
Trading off the name of another business is something else and quite a serious matter, so you can imagine our surprise when we found that www.southernmonitoring.com was being pointed at the EMCS website.
Owning website domain names of course is not illegal, but using them to mislead potential customers and “passing off” as another company is something any reputable company would not even consider being involved with.
After our solicitors placed a cease and desist order on EMCS and demanded the immediate transfer of the web domain name to us and whilst continuing to explore the issues of damages or loss of trade, I reflected on why they would undertake such misrepresentation by diverting business or masquerading as Southern Monitoring Services.
I can only conclude that on the one hand they recognise our company name as being a quality brand that they would wish to associate their business with, whilst on the other, they must be pretty desperate to stoop to such levels in order to attract new business.
Whichever, thank you for the compliment and maybe all the other ARC’s out there ought to check combinations of their own website address to see if EMCS are paying you the same compliment!
In the meanwhile I am pleased to inform you that we have no association, nor desire to have any association with EMCS. Both Companies are totally independent of one another and compete in the marketplace.
